This policy covers Nothings, the iPhone app by tocolabs, and the Nothings pages on this website.
Nothings is designed to work privately on your iPhone. It does not require an account.
Information Nothings handles
The app stores its content, preferences and state on your device. Nothings does not use a tocolabs backend to store this information.
Nothings does not collect or transmit personal information, usage analytics or session history to tocolabs. Your choices about text, visuals, sound and session duration are saved locally. Touch interactions and sound generation are processed on your device; the app does not record microphone audio or access your contacts, photos or location.
Network services
The core experience is offline-first and does not depend on live artificial intelligence or an online content feed.
Advertising and profiling in the app
Nothings does not include advertising, behavioural profiling or third-party session replay.
The app does not contain third-party analytics SDKs, sell personal information or share app activity with advertisers.
Keeping and deleting app data
Saved preferences remain on your device until you change them or delete the app. To remove the app and its local data, choose Delete App in iPhone settings; offloading the app keeps its data. There is no Nothings account or server-side profile to delete.
Device backups may contain app preferences, depending on your Apple settings. Manage or delete those backups separately through Apple's backup controls. tocolabs cannot access or delete your device backups.
Apple services
Downloading and purchasing the app is handled by Apple and is subject to Apple's privacy policy and App Store terms.
When you contact us
If you email tocolabs, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message so we can respond to your enquiry. Please only send the details needed to explain your question, and avoid including private or sensitive information.
We use this information for our legitimate interest in providing support and handling enquiries. Our email service provider processes messages to deliver and store our correspondence. We retain correspondence for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry and related follow-up, or to meet legal obligations. You can request deletion using the contact address below.
Website analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and how pages are used. This is separate from the Nothings app.
When the analytics service loads, your browser sends information to Google, including the page URL and your IP address. Google may set or read cookies. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services for details and available controls.
Your privacy choices and rights
You can change the app's preferences at any time or delete its local data as described above. The app does not require consent to tracking or personal-data collection to use its core experience.
Where applicable, you can ask to access, correct or delete personal information held about you, restrict or object to its processing, or receive a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact us using the email below to make a request.
If you are concerned about how your personal information is handled, you can also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority.
Children's privacy
The app does not collect personal information from users, including children. If a child has sent personal information to us by email, a parent or guardian can contact us to request its deletion.
